Premier League / Roman: Conte has taken the helm as the new manager of Tottenham.

Following the departure of Nuno, speculation arose about a potential reunion with the esteemed coach Antonio Conte. This information was reported by the well-known sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, who is recognized for his insights into player transfers in the year 2023.

According to sources, Conte is said to have come to a preliminary agreement with Tottenham and is expected to officially finalize the contract on Tuesday (2). It's noted that Fabio Paratici, the football director, is keen to see Conte take over. Negotiations reached an advanced stage in June of this year, but for some reason, Conte later backed away from the offer, possibly due to financial considerations.

However, Nuno's dismissal suggests that the Spurs are poised to finally turn a profit. British media has reported that Tottenham is considering borrowing €280 million to facilitate Conte's plans for expansion. Rumors suggest that Conte is interested in acquiring four prominent players from Serie A, anticipating significant purchases in January.

According to the Italian soccer website Calciomercato, Conte’s ambitious targets include top players from Serie A, with notable interest in Fiorentina’s emerging superstar Dusan Vlahovic. This 21-year-old Serbian forward, who stands at 1.9 meters, has demonstrated remarkable skill and an eye for goal, prompting Fiorentina to set a valuation of €80 million.

Both players have reportedly been on Conte's radar, including two key contributors from his successful Serie A title-winning squad at Inter: goalkeepers Stefan de Vrij and Marcelo Brozović. Lastly, AC Milan's Alessio Romagnoli, aged 26 and whose contract ends next summer, is in slow negotiations for a renewal. Tottenham is positioned to secure these players at a bargain.
