Initially slated for December 21, the Leicester vs. Everton match has now been pushed to January as a result of a COVID-19 outbreak within the Leicester squad.

At this moment, there are only eight senior outfield players available for the rescheduled match. Leicester is currently missing 17 players due to injuries, positive COVID-19 tests, and commitments to the Africa Cup of Nations, falling short of the 13-player minimum required by league regulations.
Several players have been sidelined due to various injuries.
Key players such as Jamie Vardy, Caglar Soyuncu, Jonny Evans, Luke Thomas, and Patson Daka are dealing with hamstring injuries. Meanwhile, Ryan Bertrand is coping with a knee issue, Timothy Castagne has a thigh injury, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is struggling with a calf injury.
James Justin has returned after recovering from an ACL injury, but Ricardo Pereira and Wesley Fofana are still undergoing rehabilitation from leg fractures. Bouba Soumare has an injury preventing him from playing against Watford, and Philip Benkovic is also unavailable.
Additionally, the team will be missing Daniel Amartey, Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi, and Nampalys Mendy, who are all participating in the Africa Cup of Nations.
The fixture between Leicester and Everton has been postponed.
Leicester City Football Club released a statement confirming that their match against Everton scheduled for January 11 will not take place, following discussions within the Premier League board.
The decision was made after the club reported that they lacked sufficient first-team players available to compete, due to a mix of COVID-19 cases, injuries, and players on international duty for the Africa Cup of Nations.
The match will be rescheduled for a future date, and all tickets purchased for this game will remain valid.
The club expressed its apologies for any trouble this may cause fans of both Leicester City and Everton.
In a statement, the Premier League confirmed that they have granted Leicester's request for postponement as the club failed to meet the minimum player count required for play (13 outfield players and one goalkeeper) due to COVID-19, injuries, and players occupied with the Africa Cup of Nations.
